Great and Precious Promises Scripture Reading – 2 Peter 1:4 - 5a"And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God's promises..."

God in His care for each one of us has purchased a new way of loving and living through the expense of the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. As we came to Jesus and confessed our sins, turning to God in repentance - by the Holy Spirit God has given us these, 'Great and Precious Promises'.

In His power God will enable us to live this new life. By faith we are to look for and receive His promises and purposes for our lives day by day. The more that we press in to Jesus Christ, the more His Spirit will fill us with the knowledge of His plans for us day in and day out.

Pressing into Jesus and His promises will distinguish us from lesser desires that chase after us in the world, the flesh and the devil. Each day we can experience greater victory and joy as we allow God to lead us along the best pathway that He is preparing for us.

As you and I walk in the fullness of His calling, we will also strengthen other people of faith who are living for the Lord. And together we will be a living and loving testimony of the great truth that Jesus saves and leads us in a new direction which will never disappoint or discourage.

This pathway of escape from darkness to light, from death to life, from self to the Savior is our joy to aspire to with a daily faith in Christ Jesus our Lord. Living in the fullness of His promise will call more and more people all over the world to discover that Jesus Christ is our Lord!

Prayer Father in heaven I receive Your promises for my life today. Help me to press in to the fullness of Your plans and purposes through Christ Jesus my Lord.

Memory Verse:  Hebrews 11:11 NLT "It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise."
