Doing Our Part Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 3:7 - 8
“It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work.”
Did you realize that within your heart and life as a follower of Jesus Christ, you have the greatest message that has ever been given anyone on the earth? That our loving Creator God has made our salvation possible by sending Jesus His one and only Son to die on the cross purchasing our salvation, and rose from the dead proving His deity! Now it is all of our privilege and honor to take this Good News and make it known even to the very ends of the earth.
There is not even one of us who is not necessary in this effort and there actually is no task any more important than the other. All of us have been called to be workers in God’s great harvest field until Jesus Christ comes back to take us home. Some will prepare the way with works of service and kindness. Others will share the message with their lives that Jesus Christ saves. Then there will be those who have the pleasure of leading people to Jesus and seeing a great harvest come forth. All of us need to be faithful in, ‘Doing Our Part’, and this will require both our faith and a willing sacrifice of our lives. In this great work of the Gospel, we need to remember that it is God who is the One that takes His Word, coupled with our faith and obedience, raising up an abundant harvest and causing spiritual life and growth to take place. We are all part of the church of the living God, the body of Christ, commissioned to do His good works all over the world.
There is no more important task than this, and at times the work will be hard. But God is not only faithful to fill us to do His good pleasure, but He also will reward every work of our hands and sacrifice of our hearts and lives, throughout all of eternity as a testimony to His glorious name.
Prayer Heavenly Father how I thank-You that we have been called and chosen to work in Your harvest field, faithfully doing all that You have purposed for us to do. I pray for each and every part of Your body today, that we will be responsive to the Holy Spirit. Fill me to do my part in the work bringing honor and glory to Your name I pray through Jesus Christ my Savior and Lord.
Memory Verse: Matthew 6:14 “If ___ _______ those who ___ against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”
