Brand New People Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:17 - 18
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.”
It is true that that moment when you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, everything changed for you from the inside out. I know that I do not have to tell you that because the Holy Spirit both revealed and sealed this truth to your heart on that very day that you were adopted as His very own. The bible tells us that all of us who are led by the Spirit of God belong to Him!
Understand that this is not some kind of temporary makeover, but rather it is a total and complete change that makes us, ‘Brand New People’, crafted in the way that our Creator intended for us to be. The old way of living, learning and loving has passed away, and everything is being made new. In order for us to know all that God has intended for us, we must press into the fullness of the Holy Spirt and allow ourselves to be renewed in thoughts, words and of course the resulting deeds.
There is nothing that we can do to know this new life, except receive the gracious gift that is ours through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord by faith. Following this we are called to walk in the light of His great mercy and love and look to tell others our story of faith and forgiveness in Jesus name that can be theirs too.
Yes, my sister and brother we all have been given a great job to do. This is telling others that God does not want to count their sins on them, and loves them too much to leave them where they are, lost in darkness, but has purchased their freedom and forgiveness through the death and resurrection of His one and only Son, our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.
This gift is too good to keep all to ourselves, our families, our city, even our country. God is calling us to take this message of Jesus to the very ends of the earth!
Prayer Heavenly Father I ask that You would make me a person of reconciliation, looking at the people around me with the eyes of Jesus Christ. Fill me with Your sense of priority and use me for Your glory I pray through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
Memory Verse: Matthew 6:14“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”
