How Great is Our God? Scripture Reading: Psalm 119:156

“LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations.” “Every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”.

If the stuff of life ever has you wondering exactly, ‘How Great is Our God?’, simply and profoundly take a moment on this Thursday, February 23 to remember His joyful journey that He made for you and I and any and all who will come and call upon the holy name of Jesus.

He left the glories of heaven. He was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary. He was both fully God, yet fully man, and everyone who saw Jesus witnessed the perfect glory of God the Father. He was anointed to save the poor of spirit, open the eyes of the blind, unstop the ears of the deaf and raise the dead both figuratively but more importantly spiritually. He went to the cross and gave of His lifeblood for our eternal salvation. After suffering He was buried, but three days later, God raised Jesus from the dead and now, He lives forevermore…Hallelujah and Amen forevermore!

Even as on the cross Jesus prayed looking down upon those who were cursing and abusing Him, ‘Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing’, so my sister and brother along with all of those who will yet call upon the name of the Lord, Jesus is saying and praying the same thing for me and for you. His mercies once again this morning by the love, grace, mercy and kindness of our God are made brand spanking new.

What can we do with such a love? May our hearts be ablaze with His holy fire, may our spirits daily be renewed, may we pick up our cross too and joyfully follow our living and loving Lord Jesus Christ, and may we love, honor and serve our God, not because we have to, but because we get to respond to the wonder and greatness of our amazing God!

Prayer My merciful, gracious and loving Father God, how I rejoice in Your lovingkindness today which truly is better than life. May this awareness of Your mercy and grace help me to run the race and shine the light on Jesus that others too may see and believe that He loves them, died for them, rose again and is calling them to life in His name. Amen.

Memory Verse: Matthew 6:14“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.”
